M Rammohan Goud's son Manish and five others allegedly attacked three staffers at Kadthal toll gate on Srisailam highway on the outskirts of Hyderabad and stabbed one of them in the incident.

HYDERABAD: The son of a ruling Telengana Rashtra Samiti corporator and his five friends were arrested on the charge of attempt to murder after they allegedly assaulted and injured a toll plaza employee in Ranga Reddy district of Telangana when he demanded Rs 30 toll fee.

Manish Goud and five others allegedly attacked three staffers at Kadthal toll gate on Srisailam highway on the outskirts of Hyderabad and stabbed one of them in the incident. A case under IPC 307 (attempt to murder) has been registered against the six. Manish is the son of M Rammohan Goud, TRS incharge for LB Nagar and Laxmi Prasanna, GHMC corporator representing TRS from BN Reddy Nagar.

The incident took place at around 9.30 p.m when the accused, Manish, along with his five friends were reportedly returning from a friend's birthday party. The car they were travelling in, numbered 'AP 29 BR 888', was stopped at the Kadthal toll gate when Manish tried to avoid the payment route by passing through a barricaded route. When supervisor M Mahesh tried to stop them and asked them to pay the toll fee, Manish reportedly refused claiming that he was a TRS leader's son. He then got down from the car and tried to attack the toll booth staff.

The police said, Manish and his five friends beat up the supervisor and one Arun Reddy (a friend of Manish), took out a knife and attacked supervisor Mahesh before they fled from the spot. Following the incident, they tried to flee the scene but was nabbed at nearby Amangal police station limits.

The entire drama was caught on camera at the toll booth. The injured staff were undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

Rammohan Goud, the TRS leader and Manish's father, responding to the incident, said: "My son was in the car but was not involved in the attack. He was sitting inside the car and three of his friends were involved in the attack." Rammohan, further, denied that they attacked the staff for toll fee. "They had taken toll for two side travel."
