HYDERABAD: The state government has decided to develop Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple in Bhadrachalam by constituting a ‘temple development authority’.

The proposed authority will be set up for the development of the Bhadradri temple complex and its surroundings on the lines of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Complex in Yadadri for which a temple development authority was already constituted.

The government will spend Rs 100 crore to modernise the surroundings of the Bhadradri temple complex, besides renovating Swamy Vari Kalyana Mandapam, Brahmotsava Mandapam and Annadana Sathram in the temple’s  premises.

R & B minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, who belongs to Khammam district, held a meeting with endowments department commissioner N Siva Sankar, government advisor (policy and institutional development) B V Papa Rao and architect Anand Sai here on Thursday.

The minister sought the views of the trio whether setting up of a temple development authority would help the government in developing the temple complex. When, Siva Sankar, Papa Rao and Anand Sai backed this proposal, the minister asked them to submit a detailed project report (DPR) with regard to Bhadradri development to government by July or August.

“We should take steps to call for tenders in August itself, after the submission of the DPR. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is keen on developing Bhadradri temple on the lines of Yadadri. He is ready to release Rs 100 crore for this purpose,” the minister said.
