SURYAPET : Some failures in the dream project of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, double bedroom housing scheme came to light in Suryapet. This is following an incident that happened five months ago in Chandampet village of Nalgonda mandal when pillar and staircase of a double bedroom house collapsed due to rains. The Chief Minister inaugurated double bedroom houses at Golla Bazaar of Suryapet town on October 12. He visited the houses and interacted with the beneficiaries. District officials in the first phase allotted 192 houses to beneficiaries.
In view of the CM’s visit, Suryapet district officials forcibly sent the beneficiaries into the houses without providing proper infrastructure. On the CM’s visit day three, families were temporarily shifted to the double bedroom houses. District administration failed to provide electricity and water connection to the houses. After the inauguration, about 30 families were shifted to the houses. With lack of power supply and water they are living in allotted houses in the mornings and sleeping in other houses.
The annoyed beneficiaries staged a dharna before the double bedroom houses and raised slogans against the government.Speaking to Express, the beneficiaries informed that the officials have not provided minimum facilities in the houses. Minister G Jagadeesh Reddy is daily touring the district but after the inauguration, he never concentrated on the facilities.
“We are unable to stay in the houses without minimum facilities. We reminded the officials concerned but they ignored. Thus we had to stage dharna to solve our problems,” they said.Suryapet Deputy Tahasildar Jaleel visited the spot and promised to provide all facilities as early as possible.
