HYDERABAD:The State government has informed the High Court that even though it is against giving permission to the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) to hold its meeting at Indira Park in Hyderabad, the police has doesn’t object to a meeting at a place on the city outskirts, provided that there is no rally. They said that the police had suggested the move for security reasons.

Open grounds at SS Convention near Shamshabad, Nagole metro rail, Miyapur, Abdullapurmet, Cherial village of Keesara mandal and Walamtari near Gandipet are among the alternative places suggested by the police for the proposed TJAC meeting. Advocate general K Ramkrishna Reddy said before the High Court on Monday that the State had no objection to a meeting on outskirts. B Rachna Reddy said that the TJAC would agree to having no rally, but will conduct the meeting within city limits from 11 am to 3 pm on Feb 22. TJAC will have no objection if the police grants permission for conducting the proposed meeting even at places like NTR stadium, Nizam college grounds, LB stadium and Necklace Road.
‘Release TJAC members’
Exuding confidence that required permission will be granted to the “Nirudyoga Nirasana Rally” to be organised on Feb 22 in Hyderabad, TJAC chairman M Kodandaram on Monday alleged that already police had detained TJAC members. He asked the State government to release all the detained persons and allow the TJAC to hold its rally, peacefully.
