Mahbubnagar admin plans to acquire land for air strip in Telangana

In what could be a good news for the residents, the district administration is planning to set up an air strip near Hyderabad- Bengaluru national highway in Mahbubnagar.

MAHABUBNAGAR: In what could be a good news for the residents, the district administration is planning to set up an air strip near Hyderabad- Bengaluru national highway in Mahbubnagar.In all probability, if the airstrip clears all obstacles, it will either come up in  Moodapeta or Addakula mandals of the district.

The district administration has been chalking out plans to acquire land for the establishment of the airstrip in the district. The administration has been surveying suitable land to build the airstrip, which will have a nomenclature of mini airport.

Following chief minister’s announcement on setting up of mini airports, the State administration has issued orders to the district administration to take up the process of identification of the suitable land before taking up the land acquisition process. The officials are now busy with gathering the details of government lands available in the two mandals. The two mandals have Government lands in Gudibanda, Shakarpur and Ponnakal villages.

Establishment of IT park

The construction of a mini airport will give fillip to the establishment of IT park in the district, which is still underway. TSIIC has been busy with land acquisition process. The state government has already released `15 crore for the purpose.Officials say that the establishment of the airport in the district especially at Addakula will help VIPs of the State and the country to visit the district by catching a chopper at Shamshabad International Airport instead of using the road stretching 110km.
