HYDERABAD: In the third such case in a week, a 7-year-old Bowenpally resident was allegedly molested by a hotel worker after he lured him into his room with chocolates.
The minor boy, whose father is a retired army jawan, has been allegedly molested by the hotel worker at least six times, said police. After the latest incident on Sunday, the victim complained to his parents on Monday.
“The accused who lives beside the boy’s home, lured him into his residence when the boy was playing with his friend in front of his house and molested him,” Bowenpally PS SHO P Vijay Kumar told New Indian Express adding that the police came to know of the incident only on Wednesday.
"After the boy complained of the ordeal to his parents, they thrashed him,” Kumar added. Following that, the accused and his four other roommates are currently absconding.
The police are currently on the lookout for all the four because they don't know which among them is the main accused. "The accused could be anyone among one Anil, Dhananjaya, Sunil or Pratap," he said.
A case has been registered under Section 4 & 5 of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the main accused and a manhunt has been launched for nabbing him.
History-sheeter strikes again
As important as any case to be tried under POCSO always is, this particular case gains further importance as it is the third such incident that has been recorded against a minor in a week in Hyderabad.
A few days after a 16-year-old boy from Barkas was allegedly raped by an older man in a secluded area of his locality, the Chandrayangutta police on Friday arrested an indivdual in connection to the case and produced him in court.
Police said, Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer of Barkas, a repeat offender, allegedly raped his neighbour who had gone to his place to give him some food. The boy, under trauma, could not divulge the incident to his parents. It was only after the next two alleged rape attempts that the boy raised a cry and the incident came to light.
In 2017, a 17-year-old intermediate student was kidnapped and gang-raped by four youths, including Bawazir. The gang kidnapped her when she was walking home. Police had arrested Bawazir for rape and kidnap but was later released on bail.
Khader Bagh rape and murder
Earlier in the week, a half-naked body of a 12-year-old was found murdered in a secluded area near to his residence in the Khader Bagh area of Mehdipatnam. He was allegedly raped by his juvenile friend who had earlier threatened to kill him, alleged the deceased’s father Syed Afroz.
On Friday, SHO of Langerhouz police station C Anjaiah said that the post mortem report confirmed that the victim was raped before he was killed. He also clarified that no other persons were involved in the incident.
