HYDERABAD: A case of forgery and cheating was registered against the in-charge managing director of the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation B Manohar by Narayanguda police on Sunday after some corporation employees lodged a complaint alleging that Manohar had submitted fake educational certificates to secure job.

While some employees want the department to come out clean on the issue, the officer sees this as an act of revenge.

According to police, 15 employees lodged a complaint on Sunday stating that Manohar had allegedly created fake educational certificates for getting the government job and also promotion. Police registered cases under Section 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of IPC.

DCP Central Zone P Viswa Prasad told Express, “The complainants have not produced any documents to support their claim. We have registered a case and will  investigate.”

Speaking to Express from Pune, Manohar said that he was not surprised. “These complainants are contract employees who were removed during the tenure of the previous MD.  They just want to create some trouble. How can anyone get a government job with fake documents?” wondered Manohar who will be completing 30 years of service this year.
