He also requested the railway minister to revise the amount for the RoB sanctioned in 2014 in Tandur from Rs 51.75 crore to Rs 110 crore, and to provide halts to Bengaluru link express, Lokmanya Tilak express, intercity express and Hubli express in Nawandgi railway station.
Rajender meets Paswan
Meanwhile, finance and civil supplies minister E Rajender called on Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari with a request to start work immediately for laying the new national highway from Mancherial to Chandrapur, which was already sanctioned. Rajender requested the Union Minister to convert the Hyderabad-Mancherial Rajiv Rahadari into a national highway.
Later, Rajender called on Union consumer affairs, food and public distribution minister Ram Vilas Paswan and requested him to reconsider the Centre’s decision to reduce the levy from 75 per cent to 25 per cent in paddy procurement. The reduction of the levy would be detrimental to the interests of the farmers, Rajender said. Rajender demanded that the funds to be released to Telangana under Food Security Act should be released immediately. Paswan assured Rajender that a meeting would be convened on August 2 to discuss these issues.
