Businessman booked for threatening assistant sub-inspector in Telangana
HYDERABAD: A businessman, who is allegedly wanted by the Kadapa police, and his wife had reportedly threatened a retired assistant sub-inspector at KPHB in the city, alleging the latter had tipped off the police about his whereabouts. KPHB police registered a case against the businessman Mohan Reddy and his wife on Saturday.
According to police, a few days ago, a police team from Kadapa approached KPHB police, seeking their help in tracing Mohan Reddy as a non-bailable warrant has been pending against him for a long time. The KPHB police helped the Kadapa police in tracing Reddy’s address, after which they executed the warrant.
However, the accused had a suspicion that retired ASI Narsimha Reddy had helped the police in tracing his residence at KPHB. He went to Narsimha Reddy’s residence along with his wife and a group of other persons and created a nuisance, accusing him of tipping off the Kadapa police. The nuisance by the couple and their associates created a disturbance among the neighbours, who informed the police about the incident. The police rushed to the spot and apprehended the couple.
The accused has been booked under charges of nuisance and a notice has been served to him and his wife. “A charge sheet will be filed before the court, for further proceedings,” KPHB inspector Ch Kushalkar said.
