WARANGAL: Having a meal at a popular tiffin centre in Warangal turned out to be a shocker for a person who found a dead rat in the brinjal curry he was about to eat on Tuesday afternoon.

M Ramesh, who admitted his wife to a hospital, went for a meal at Akshay Tiffins. As he started eating, he found a dead rat in brinjal curry.  Shocked, he pulled out the dead rodent by its tail, showed it to the management and sought an explanation. Though what transpired between the management and Ramesh is not known, the customer then walked out with the dead rat wrapped in a plastic bag. As the video of the dead rat in curry went viral on social media, someone informed the municipal authorities.

"I examined the kitchen and found it in a hygienic condition but sealed it for now. I collected a sample of the curry and send it to the lab for testing. Basing on the report, action will be taken,’’ GWMC health officer Raja Reddy said. However, the corporation fined the eatery Rs 10,000. Later, the eatery was closed for the day.
