HYDERABAD: Making it clear that they are ready to face Assembly polls whether they are held in coming November/December or as per schedule, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has said his party is likely to forge alliance with all like-minded parties including TDP in the state to dethrone Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the next Assembly elections.
“Alliance with any of opposition parties in the State like Left Parties, Kodandaram’s TJS and even TDP can’t be ruled out. This proposal was already put before the AICC president Rahul Gandhi. He has to take a decision on it,” Uttam said while interacting with the editorial team of the Express here on Wednesday.
“As of now, we have good working relationship with all opposition parties except BJP. We are in good terms with TDP too. Hence, there is every possibility of we joining hands with like-minded parties to defeat the ruling TRS in the ensuing polls. But, the final decision is in the hands of Rahul Gandhi,” he informed. According to Uttam, his party was planning to give tickets to prominent Seemandhra leaders, who made the city their home in the ensuing polls.
“Lakhs of Andhras who settled in Hyderabad and numerically strong Muslims will decide the electoral fortunes of any political party in the constituencies that fall under the GHMC. Hence, we are working on a strategy to field some prominent Andhra politicos in some segments in the State capital, besides nominating strong candidates against AIMIM in Hyderabad Lok Sabha and other Assembly segments in the Old City,” he said.
Stating that there is a silent revolution in the State against the TRS government, the TPCC chief exuded confidence that the Congress would storm to power after the Assembly elections to undo the “injustice done to various sections of people”. Saying that the issue of who will be the CM candidate from the Congress will be decided by Rahul Gandhi, Uttam said if he becomes the CM, he would regularly meet commoners unlike KCR, “who is most inaccessible CM in the entire country.”
