BJP’s ‘big plan’ for Dalits in Telangana

The saffron party has promised to construct a 150-ft Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund if voted to power.

HYDERABAD: BJP has a ‘definitive’ plan for Dalit empowerment in Telangana. The saffron party has promised to construct a 150-ft Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund if voted to power. The claim was made by MP Bandaru Dattatreya while addressing a manifesto meeting with the Dalit activists.

Earlier the party made a promise that it would rename Rajiv Gandhi international airport as Komaram Bheem International Airport. The BJP also promised to set up a tribal university in the State, a unifying development board that combines all thandas, Rs 3,000 monetary support for cobblers and reservation as per 2011 Census. 

Meanwhile, saffron party’s Indrasena Reddy has complained to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) that TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy violated the Model Code of Conduct. He alleged that a Congress worker carried out religious propaganda in Secunderabad.
