HYDERABAD: TS Transco and Genco chairman and managing director (CMD) Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao said that all the pump sets required for diverting the Godavari waters from Medigadda to Sriram Sagar and Mallanna Sagar were ready.

The CMD was inspecting the crucial Ramadugu pump house on Saturday. The highest capacity motors in Asia were fixed at Ramadugu pump house. This includes seven motors, each with a capacity of 139 MW, a total capacity of 973 MW. Prabhakar Rao inspected these pumps. It may be mentioned that Godavari waters are already being diverted to Annaram.

The water then flows from Annaram to Sundilla. Then, the water will be released from Sundilla barrage to Yellampalli; from there to Nandimedaram; and then to Ramadugu.  At Ramadugu, the water would be further lifted to a height of 100 metres to divert to Sriram Sagar Project and also to Mid-Manair, through two regulators. Thus, Ramadugu motors, considered as Bahubali motors, becomes crucial to Kaleshwaram project.
