HYDERABAD: Telangana has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first State in the country to introduce the State Robotics Framework. It symbolises the State’s commitment to attracting investors, startups, and robotics enthusiasts, according to IT & Industries Minister KT Rama Rao.

During the launch event at T-Hub, KTR expressed the State’s vision of establishing a sustainable robotics ecosystem that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and research and development, positioning Telangana as a leader in the field of robotics.

The framework emphasises leveraging robotics technology across four key domains — agriculture, healthcare, industrial automation, and consumer robotics. To realise the framework’s vision, the government has identified five key pillars — infrastructure access, business enablement, fostering research and innovation, human capital enhancement, and responsible deployment.

These pillars, KTR believes, will nurture and promote a vibrant and sustainable robotics industry in Telangana.KTR further explained that Telangana aims to introduce groundbreaking innovations in robotics to enhance the welfare of its citizens.

As the State continues to strive for technological advancements and overall development, it remains steadfast in embracing new technologies and fostering innovation across various sectors, thereby ensuring a better future for all. KTR emphasised that robotics technology has become a game changer, going beyond automating repetitive tasks and enabling us to unlock new levels of creativity, productivity, and innovation. “By embracing robotics, Telangana aims to tap into its transformative potential and harness it for the benefit of its people,” he said.

This is the sixth framework introduced by the Emerging Technologies Wing of the ITE&C Department, following the successful launch of frameworks for blockchain in 2018 (the first in the country), drones in 2019 (also the first in the country), AI in 2020 (making Telangana the first state to do so, preceding NITI Aayog’s AI for ALL strategy document), cloud adoption in 2021, and SpaceTech in 2022.
