HYDERABAD: Finding fault with the BRS leaders for pursuing vindictive politics, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Thursday said that the pink party opposing the establishment of pharma clusters was “foolish”.
He demanded that BRS working president KT Rama Rao should first explain whether giving jobs to employed youths, setting up of integrated schools and doing good was the failure of the Congress government.
Speaking to reporters here, the deputy CM alleged that as they lost power, BRS leaders were resorting to provoking and instigating innocent people for their selfish vested interests.
“But Congress is against such vindictive politics,” he said.
Questioning if BRS as the main opposition party has ever played a constructive role, Bhatti said that the pink party was “desperate to bring down Congress government”.
Historic decision
The deputy CM made it clear that the integrated household survey was taken up to start more welfare schemes. The Congress made a promise to people to take up caste census and it is now fulfilling that promise, he said and added that the caste census would help a lot in the progress of the state and Telangana would become a role model for the entire country.
“The questionnaire for the survey was prepared to keep all aspects in mind. Caste census is a historic decision,” Bhatti asserted.
Meanwhile, IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said that the Opposition was trying to damage and demolish institutions.
Referring to the Lagcherla violence, he said: “We want to do everything democratically, listen to people’s opinion, reason out with people, and try to convince them in a more democratic manner. Our government is trying to promote pharma and other industries. But the Opposition wants to demolish institutions, beat officials and damage public property,” he said.
Speaking to TNIE, he said: “Over the past 10 years, we (Congress) have resorted to democratic action and not violence believing in approaching the courts for justice. They (BRS) ran administration for 10 years and that day (November 11), it was a gruesome attack on the collector. What if stones have hit the Collector? The chairman of Kodangal Area Development Authority was beaten up by 20 ‘organised’ people.”
“If there was a conspiracy behind the Lagcherla attack, we will not spare anybody if they are found to be involved in it” he added.
