HYDERABAD: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said on Wednesday that an Integrated Bhu Bharati portal will be launched on a pilot basis in five mandals from April 2, marking the first step toward resolving land disputes. Based on the outcomes, necessary modifications will be made before expanding it further.
The minister said that the portal was developed by bringing the Land, Survey, and Registration departments under one umbrella to ensure transparent and simplified services for farmers. During a teleconference with revenue officials he said that the portal was designed from a farmer-centric perspective and instructed officials to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the general public, especially farmers.
The pilot will be implemented in Kusumanchi (Khammam district), Aswaraopeta (Bhadradri Kothagudem district), Amangal (Rangareddy district), Vatpally (Sangareddy district), and Kosgi (Narayanpet district). District Collectors were directed to closely monitor the functioning of the portal.
The minister stated that, unlike earlier, farmers would no longer need to visit Mee Seva centres for land-related services, as they can now be accessed from home. Previously, farmers had to frequently visit survey officials to resolve land boundary issues. Now, they can apply through the Bhu Bharati portal from anywhere.
Once a farmer logs in, details of their land will be displayed. They can request a survey by specifying the extent of land, and the applicable fee will be shown. After payment, the request will be forwarded to a licensed surveyor in the respective village. Within two days, notices will be issued to neighbouring landowners. The survey date will be finalised within seven days, and the survey will be completed using rovers.
After the survey, the data will be uploaded to the system and sent for scrutiny by the mandal surveyor, followed by approval from the tahsildar. Subsequently, an LPM (Land Parcel Map) and Bhudhar number will be assigned to the applicant, and the details will be stored in the Bhu Bharati portal.
After completion of the survey, the survey map will be generated and uploaded to the portal. Throughout the process, SMS alerts will be sent to the registered mobile number of the applicant at every stage — from application to completion.
In accordance with the Bhu Bharati Act, the rule of attaching a survey map during registration of agricultural land transactions will be implemented in these five mandals. Each survey map (LPM) will be assigned a unique number, and each land parcel will be given a Bhudhar number, similar to an Aadhaar number.
The minister also stated that sufficient surveyors have been made available in these mandals to handle survey requests efficiently. Traditional survey tools such as chains, rods, cross-staffs, and measuring tapes will be replaced with modern rover technology, ensuring faster and more accurate survey results.
By enabling all services from home with transparency, this initiative would mark a historic transformation in the revenue system, he said.
