HYDERABAD: Amidst intelligence reports of a conspiracy to disrupt the police recruitment drive, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to ensure that the process is conducted in a foolproof and transparent manner.
After the intelligence department provided “crucial information on attempts by certain political parties with vested interests” to disrupt the process to recruit 7,437 police personnel, the chief minister held an emergency meeting with DGP CV Anand and other key officials.
During the meeting, the chief minister also instructed the officials to conduct the recruitment process strictly in accordance with the rules and regulations, leaving no room for irregularities.
He emphasised the need for heightened vigilance at every stage of the process, including preparation, printing and transportation of question papers. He also directed officials to pay special attention to security arrangements to be made at examination centres.
Revanth further instructed authorities to keep a close watch on coaching centres and prevent the spread of misinformation and malicious propaganda related to the examinations through social media and other platforms.
He also called for strict surveillance by the cybercrime wing to crack down on middlemen, fraudulent websites and fake social media accounts that deceive job seekers by promising employment opportunities. The chief minister ordered the cybersecurity and intelligence departments to remain on high alert until the entire examination process is completed.
Revanth in Delhi
Meanwhile, the chief minister left for New Delhi on Tuesday night to meet Union ministers to discuss issues pertaining to the state.
According to officials, he is scheduled to meet Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav to seek environmental clearances for key irrigation projects. It may be mentioned here that the Supreme Court
recently struck down the Office Memorandum issued
by the Ministry of Environment in 2021.
The chief minister is also expected to meet Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to discuss the takeover of Hyderabad Metro Phase 1 from L&T company and Metro expansion under Phase 2.
