HYDERABAD: The Telangana government is expected to unveil the master plan for Bharat Future City in December, with preparations now in the final stages, sources said.
The master plan is being prepared by Singapore government-owned consultancy Surbana Jurong and is expected to be unveiled during the Telangana Rising Global Investment Summit. The summit is likely to be held at the permanent campus of Young India Skills University, which is under construction within Future City and is expected to be ready by December.
Officials said Future City, spread over 30,000 acres, is being developed as a global investment destination. The government already has possession of around 20,000 acres and is acquiring the remaining 10,000 acres.
The project will include dedicated zones for sectors such as artificial intelligence, life sciences, healthcare, education, industry, sports, entertainment and ecotourism. Officials said the government aims to make Future City the preferred destination for Fortune 500 companies and a major hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy recently laid the foundation stone for an Amazon data centre in Future City, while several more international data centre projects are expected to follow.
To facilitate development, the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) has inaugurated its office in the project area. Construction of a dedicated road linking the Life Sciences Hub with the Nagarjunasagar National Highway is also progressing, with officials expecting more global companies to announce investments soon.
