HYDERABAD: Alleging that invisible forces within the Congress were provoking MLAs and other party leaders to speak against her, Endowments Minister Konda Surekha on Saturday urged TPCC Disciplinary Committee Chairman Mallu Ravi to identify them and take disciplinary action.

The demand came after several party MLAs, MLCs and other leaders sought her resignation as minister over her daughter’s remarks against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. In a letter to Mallu Ravi, Surekha alleged that some Congress leaders were conspiring against her.

In her letter, she stated: “I have already given a reply to the notice issued by the disciplinary committee. I have made it clear that I have respect for party discipline and asked for withdrawal of the notice. Despite my reply to the committee, some party leaders, in a coordinated manner, targeted me and my family. It is clear that some invisible hand is there behind them.”

She expressed apprehension that someone was provoking certain party leaders to speak against her while the disciplinary proceedings were underway.

“It is a matter of concern that the party high command is silent while some leaders are making remarks against a BC woman leader like me,” she said, and sought to know whether the disciplinary committee was being influenced by the remarks of some leaders against her.
