NIZAMABAD: Emphasising that the Congress encourages democratic discourse but won’t tolerate indiscipline, TPCC chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Sunday said that all internal issues, including those related to Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, will be resolved soon.
Addressing the media during his visit to Nizamabad, Mahesh Goud said: “Compared to other parties, there is a high level of internal democracy within the Congress. Our party encourages democratic discourse but it won’t tolerate indiscipline, or statements and actions that harm the party’s interests.”
“The AICC and TPCC Disciplinary Committee will address matters related to Konda Surekha and others. All these issues would be resolved in the coming days,” he added.
Mahesh, meanwhile, asserted the state government is focussing on the development of Nizamabad. “Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy will soon be laying the foundation stone for Indira Towers in Nagaram. The initiative is aimed at providing housing to the poor people living in Nizamabad town,” he said.
Stating that a palm oil factory will be established soon in the Armoor Assembly constituency and that the Pranahitha Chevella project too would be completed ahead of the next elections, the TPCC chief said that the Nizamabad district witnessed development only under the Congress rule.
“Institutions like Telangana University, several colleges and a government medical college were established during the terms of YS Rajasekhara Reddy and N Kiran Kumar Reddy as the chief ministers of undivided Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
Party loyalists to get 70% nominated posts
During a meeting with the district Congress workers, Mahesh Goud reiterated that 70 per cent of the nominated posts would be allocated to dedicated party activists who have been striving for the party’s growth over the years.
The TPCC chief emphasised that the party is closely monitoring the performance of every activist and also reviewing the situation in each Assembly constituency during closed-door meetings with party leaders.
Meanwhile, Bodhan MLA and Government Adviser P Sudharshan Reddy accused the previous BRS regime of “severely damaging every system in the state”.
Alleging that the Union government has created financial issues in the name of GST and other matters, he said that despite the prevalence of such problems, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has been striving to resolve all the issues. “Yet, some leaders are raising personal issues against the chief minister without understanding the ground realities,” he added.

Hyderabad : Sports, Youth Affairs and Animal Husbandry Minister Vakiti Srihari on Sunday alleged that the comments made by fellow Cabinet member Konda Surekha’s daughter Sushmita Patel have caused damage to the Congress. He emphasised that everyone, irrespective of their position, should put the party first and work to protect its interests.
Addressing the media here, Srihari said that Konda Surekha and others should abide by the party line and warned that disciplinary action would be taken if anyone crosses the party line. “Everyone has the responsibility to ensure that the party does not suffer any damage. There is no need for anyone to conspire against Konda Surekha. If the party’s reputation is damaged, the AICC, TPCC and the disciplinary committee will take appropriate action,” he said.
