

PEDDAPALLI : A joint team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Gujarat Police and Ramagundam NTPC police conducted a search at a house in Ayodhya Nagar here on Monday morning as part of a multi-state probe into suspected cyber attacks on Indian government websites during Operation Sindoor.
The team searched the residence of Muzammil Khan, an engineering student.
He was questioned for several hours. Sources said the probe is focused on Muzammil’s alleged association with an online group and whether it had links to cybercrime, foreign-based networks or extremist activities.
The team reportedly seized a laptop and mobile phone belonging to him as part of the investigation.
Later, a video statement attributed to Muzammil emerged. He said he was added to an online group last year in connection with an AI course. According to him, some members of the group were subsequently arrested, following which he was questioned over his association with the group. Muzammil said he had left the group several months ago.
The NIA also conducted searches at Junnar in Pune, Nadiad in Kheda of Gujarat, Gopalganj in Bihar and in Delhi. (With inputs from PTI)
