Clarifying that the construction of the houses will not be stopped under any circumstances, he informed they are estimated to cost `40,000 crore. “Funds are being transferred in a transparent manner from Hyderabad to the bank accounts of Indiramma housing beneficiaries every Monday, leaving no scope for corruption,” he said.

Protect the interests of the poor families: Eatala

During the meeting, BJP MP Eatala Rajender said the onus of providing relief to poor families who constructed houses in slum settlements nearly 40 years ago is on the government. He stated that the government should even consider amending the law, if necessary, to protect the interests of the poor.

Batting for those who have constructed houses on plots measuring just 60-70 square yards, he stated that issues associated with GO No 59 must be resolved.

He also sought lifting of restrictions imposed on people who constructed houses around Hyderabad after obtaining all the necessary permissions.
