HYDERABAD: The AICC on Tuesday announced its candidates for the upcoming Graduate MLC elections from the Mahbubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam constituencies.
AICC president Mallikarjuna Kharge approved the Telangana Congress proposals to field Sama Rammohan Reddy from the Mahbubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad constituency and Ramreddy Sarvotham Reddy from the Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam constituency.
Sama Rammohan Reddy has been associated with the Congress for several years and has also served as chairman of the TPCC Media Committee. The party has now given him an opportunity to contest the Graduate MLC election.
Graduates MLC elections a big test for Revanth & Co
Sarvotham Reddy whom the Congress high command named as the candidate for Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam constituency is the son of former minister and former Suryapet MLA Ramreddy Damodhar Reddy. His family has been associated with the Congress for several years.
Sources said the party had considered the candidates’ winning prospects while finalising the nominees. The two graduates’ MLC elections are expected to be a significant challenge for the Congress leadership, including Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and ministers N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Thummala Nageswara Rao, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Jupally Krishna Rao and Vakiti Srihari.
