Adhiroopan, who assisted Bala in Naan Kadavul (2009), has turned director with Shanthnu’s Mupparimanam. The young director learnt about the techniques of screenplay and script-writing from Bala. He tells CE, “I always felt out of place when I was in school. It’s only after I joined the Film Institute I found others who were passionate about cinema. I took my course seriously to reach where I am.

Though I worked with Bala only for Naan Kadavul, it was a life-time experience.” Speaking about the film, Adhiroopan says the script demanded an upcoming hero who could dance, and his natural choice was Shanthnu. “Mupparimanam means three different dimensions. There are three different stages of the lead actor that has been discussed in the film. I didn’t attempt a hero-specific story.

It’s a realistic take on the lives of a couple,” he adds. While GV Prakash has composed the music, Mupparimanam was extensively shot in and around Pollachi, Alleppey and Challakudy. “Superstar launched the trailer and he loved it. This film will take Shanthnu to the next level as an actor and change people’s perception of him. He has done a lot of homework for the role. Srushti Dange has also handled the emotional scenes with ease,” he shares.
