Mallanna Sagar oustees to move court again, demand better compensation

SANGAREDDY: Mallanna Sagar oustees from Vemulaghat village have once again decided to approach the court for justice. Oustees want to approach the court to get all benefits as per the law as the court had given a verdict in their favour and directed the government to acquire land under Land Acquisition Act 2013.


Mallanna Sagar Porata Samithi leader Vinay Reddy said though the government has announced that the lands would  be acquired as per Land Acquisition Act 2013, but it is using Section 40 at the time of acquiring lands, whichwas wrong. He said that this issue would be taken to the notice of the court.  He said as per 2013 Act, market rates have to be revised every year and compensation paid as per the revised rate.


Another villager Hayath said court had admonished the government several times with regard to land acquisition under the Land Acquisition Act 2013 for  fair compensation.He said the government says that the government was forcing GO 123 on them, adding that  in case of MSP, the government had ignored revision of rates.
Hayath said the issue was taken to the notice of RDO Muthyam Reddy on Tuesday by the Mallanna Sagar Porata Samithi. MSPS leaders had demanded revision of land rates.

Sangareddy: The fight against GO 123 reached its  123rd day on Wednesday The villagers of Vemulaghat, which will be submerged under proposed Mallanna Sagar project, had been waging a battle against the government taking away their lands through the GO 123 inspite of the Land Acquisition Act 2013. Vemulaghat villagers didn’t budge under the pressure by the government. They took the lathis of the police with cases registered against them and Section 144 imposed for nearly two months. The government target was to collect 16,000 acres of land for the construction of Mallanna Sagar Project and it had convinced many villages but many villagers in Thoguta mandal are still unhappy about the process
