

The Dutch fashion industry collaborated with Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) to create ‘Dutch Fashion Here and Now India’ (DFH&NI) programme. The collaboration that has Indian designers Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna and Suneet Varma, and Dutch designers Jan Taminiau and DIED teamed up to create a collection that was showcased at the opening night of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013.
Dutch ambassador Alphonsus Stoelinga and FDCI President Sunil Sethi hosted a cocktail reception to celebrate the fashion venture on Thursday night at the embassy of Netherlands. Stoelinga said, “Like India, we are passionate about fashion; the Netherland’s creative industry is ranked in the top 10 of the world. This three-year partnership has established a platform for innovation knowledge exchange, inspiration, and development opportunity between the Indian and Dutch fashion communities.”
Seen at the cocktail were the Indian and Dutch designers as well as others like designer Nandita Basu, Harmeet Bajaj, ambassador of DFH&NI programme, and some Dutch fashion pros like photographer Peter Stigter, makeup artist Ellis Faas and DJ Joost who has done the tracks for top labels like Diesel, G-Star and Viktor & Rolf.
