Whatever the global art aficianodos may say about the slump in art market, the Indian artists are doing well. On Wednesday evening, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna of Palette Art Gallery hosted a cocktail soiree to announce the opening of George Martin’s solo exhibition—Empty Envelops.

Martin, a name of repute among Indian art fraternity, has a simple philosophy and that in his own words is, “The viewers have the right to interpret the work of art as they like to make their own work of art, for me it is enough simply to give them this sign, to communicate with them without trying to teach or direct them.”

The works of art of Martin were colourful, psychedellic and abstract and did attract the art buyers and collectors. Seen at the soiree were Sanjiv Bijli, Ruhin Jaiswal, Manu and Madhavi Parekh, Varun Bahl, Ina Puri and Radhika Chanana. The exhibition of Martin’s ‘Empty Envelops’ is on at the Palette Art Gallery till the end of this year.
