India Habitat Centre (IHC) will convert itself into a haven for photographers come September 27. There will be prints splashed all over its walls. Digital screenings, workshops and talks will also be held through the day. An initiative of IHC and Nazar Foundation to increase the visibility of photography as an art form, this biennial fest will see works from close to 90 countries through 34 print exhibitions. In addition, there will be one special tribute to the impact of Indian cinema on our lives, two print exhibitions from workshops being held during the festival and 50 digital projections. ‘‘Over the last month, we received an overwhelming response of 1,176 photographers sending in 2,349 bodies of photographic work. Needless to say, they were all of fantastic,’’ says Alka Pande, Art Consultant at the IHC.
