Her dance speaks the language of honesty. With that, she takes on the stage, making it her own. That was the case when she performed her first production Soul Cages in 2012, followed by Yudh last year. And now, Bharatanatyam dancer Savitha Sastry is ready to perform again in a theatrical titled The Prophet–Destiny, Divinity, Doubt, and this will be as enthralling as the last two. ‘‘This is a show that carries within it an intensity that will leave the audience thinking about it for a long time. The stunning audio-visual accompaniments, the out-of-the-box musical score and denouement of the presentation add up to something far more than an evening of entertainment; it becomes an experience,” says Savitha. ‘
With every show, the dancer raises the bar. She owes the success of her performances to her team that comprises her husband, music composers and of course, the audiences who encourage her with their claps. ‘‘Without them, I would never be able to give a power-packed show. Their inputs and suggestions are fuel for me,’’ says Savitha, who wants Prophet to become that kind of show, where art can redefine life and its philosophy.
