To survive in an overly competitive food market like Hauz Khas Village, one better have all aces up their sleeves. Everytime you visit this urban village, you’ll notice a new brand of restaurant, eagerly anticipating business. Similarly, the pressure on older, established restaurants to attract customers is equally inescapable. ‘‘The bottom line is, the players who succeed in offering its guests variety in various aspects, will finally survive,” says Dinesh Arora, the managing director at Elf Cafe Bar, who has launched a new menu, along with an overall new look for his restaurant. “How about eating a soup from Thailand, salad from Turkey, appetisers from Spain, main course from Italy and dessert from France? You can enjoy all that at our newly launched rooftop. How does that sound?” says a very confident Arora, who intends to constantly innovate his product to validate Elf’s basic idea that its abbreviation stands for—Eat Love and Fun.
Open till 1 am, the cafe and bar has got a new identity, says Arora. It now offers more in terms of food, music and ambience. ‘‘The menu specially, looks fantastic with additions like Vegetable Cigars, Buffallo Corn Fed Chicken Wings, Smokey Paprika Rubbed Mini Mutton Picattas, Masala Sole Steaks, Blueberry Baked Yogurt and more,’’ says the restaurateur.
Taking the bull by its horns, Arora realises he is operating in a market that is exploding with exciting choices everyday, but the test lies in seeing who stands victorious and he, for one, is more than ready for the fight to the top.
