BJP Joins Chorus with Jana Sena

HYDERABAD: At a time when there is an intense debate over the “reason” for Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan’s sudden revolt against the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh, the BJP, with whom the film actor is said to have good relations, recently joined chorus with him and sent out clear indications to the Andhra Pradesh government that it would not keep quiet if the interests of farmers in the new capital region are harmed.

The BJP has put the responsibility of doing justice to the farmers on the state government. In what could be seen as a ‘tit for tat’ move to corner the TDP government, which is trying to put the blame on the BJP for the centre’s delay in according special category status to the state, the saffron party seems to have begun giving pinpricks to the Andhra Pradesh government. “Acquiring lands for the construction of new capital is the state government’s responsibility. Hence, the TDP government should see that the farmers who are surrendering their lands are compensated properly. They should also be rehabilitated at the earliest,” said Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya.
