It is fashion week time in Delhi where the country’s top designers are showcasing their spring-summer 2016 collections at the Amazon India Fashion Week, SS 2016. Hosted by FDCI at the NSIC Grounds, there is a return of classic styles on the fashion front.

Payal Pratap showcase an enigmatic collection of classic feminine silhouettes comprising pretty frocks, stylish separates and fluid halter dresses. Flowers bloomed on her ensembles in form of pixilated cross-stitch embroidery on soft pastel hues. Lots of laces, structured construction and an uber feminine feel of Pratap’s collection won her applause from the fashionistas in attendance.

Classic glamour from Payal was followed by a modern acid-wash denim-dominant collection by Ashish Soni. Washed denim is back with a vengeance in global fashion and Soni showed what he does best—well-tailored jackets, trenches and contoured dresses. Frayed textures, innovative detailing and neat construction made the collection one of top ones in this fashion week.

Payal Jain’s crochet work and sexy resort glam look was a treat to the eyes. Bright-hued bikini peeping through crochet and sheer lacy kaaftans and maxi-dresses accentuated the sensuality quotient. The collection made us feel like being on a beach holiday. Upcoming designer Chaaya Mehrotra grabbed attention with her unique take on Ba narasi Denim. She got the famous weavers of the region to weave denim in trademark Banarasi style, and skirts and jeans made out of them looked splendid.

The Amazon India Fashion Week, Spring-Summer 2016 ends tonight with 20 designers showcasing the pret styles themed on Varanasi.
