Trying to break the magician’s code with mentalist, illusionist and magician Rahul Kharbanda could prove to be impossible. He has spent years researching and learning the nuances of the human mind, behaviour and body language. It could be tricky business to outsmart him. The 3,000 performances he has given till date have only allowed him to put his skills to several practical tests, which by now, he says, he has honed to perfection. He specialises in street magic that’s showcased without any props. Everything is based on his instinct and intuition that he uses with utmost diligence to not disappoint anybody during an act, especially himself. “I love performing impromptu. There’s a certain kind of thrill attached to being out there on the streets, with people standing right next to you, sometimes only a few inches apart, and waiting for you to surprise them. It’s challenging, tricky and very demanding in execution. Even the slightest error can bring the entire show down, not to mention the embarrassment that usually follows,” he says.
