On the occasion of the 400th death anniversary of Shakespeare this year, director Mahesh Bhatt is presenting a Hindi play called Do Deewane Shahar Mein. Inspired by Shakespeare’s first, little talked about play, Two Gentlemen of Verona, it stars Imran Zahid and actress Zoa Morani, who made her Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s production Always Kabhi Kabhi and was last seen in Bhaag Johnny. “Shakespeare has withstood the passage of time. He stood out owing to his relevance through the generations. Not only do his plays of political conspiracy deliver foresight in terms of modern day ambition and lust for power, even his social comedies are of significance as in its core is stated the truth about propriety and its rootedness,’’ says Bhatt.
Produced by Moonlight Films and Theatre Society and filmmaker Rohit Khaitan, it will be shown at Epicentre, Apparel House, Sector 44 Gurgaon, on June 19. There are two show timings—5 pm and 7.30 pm. Tickets are priced at Rs.750, Rs.600 and Rs.550 are available at the venue. Suitable for 15 years and above.
