NEW DELHI: At the age of 31, Lucky Bisht says he has experienced almost everything — from working in a confidential operation of RAW to serving as bodyguard of the then Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi, spending three years in 11 jails in a false case and now working as a scriptwriter in Bollywood. Bisht, who hailed from Gangolihat in the Pithoragarh district, Uttrakhand, said that he always wanted to join the security forces as his grandfather was also an Army personnel.
“I joined the security agency at the age of 16 in 2003. I travelled to various countries for commando training. I also served in the Assam Rifles, Special forces and the Indian army.” said Bisht. He claimed that he had also been a bodyguard for politicians like Narendra Modi (when he was the chief minister of Gujarat), Rajnath Singh (when he was the home minister), Parkash Singh Badal, Tarun Gogoi, N Chandrababu Naidu, and LK Advani.
Bisht further revealed that he was a key member of former US President Barack Obama’s security team when he visited India in November 2010. He was later imprisoned for three years for the double murder of an infamous gangster. Bisht said that he was then transferred to eleven prisons. Recalling that period, he said, “I was booked for no reason, some people conspired against me. I was also disappointed by the way the local media covered my news.”
Due to a lack of evidence, the Nainital district court freed him on March 11, 2015, sand granted a clean chit in March 2018. In 2019, he reentered the Special Forces but soon took a voluntarily retirement and headed to Mumbai to join Adit Sharma’s Flying Hat Productions to focus on his writing projects.
According to him, Hussain Zaidi, a well-known author of crime novels, is now writing a book about Bisht’s experiences called “Agent Lima,” named after the code name he used while serving in the military. The book is scheduled to be published by year’s end. “I produced more than ten movies and wrote the screenplay for a film. A Bollywood biopic about my life will also be released very soon,” he said.
