NEW DELHI: A 31-year-old woman, along with her two brothers and one sister-in-law, was arrested after her husband was allegedly beaten to death by them on Friday in Laxmi Park, following a dispute between the couple, the police said on Saturday.

The 31-year-old victim was employed with the multinational tech firm Adobe in Noida as a software engineer.

The male accused have been identified as brothers Raju Jindal, alias Rajkumar, 37, and Vedprakash Jindal, 33. The third accused is Raju’s wife, all of whom are residents of Budh Vihar. Raju works as a chartered accountant, while Vedprakash runs a clothing shop in Rithala.

According to the police, the deceased married in the Jindal household around three-and-a-half years ago. The couple had twin children, a boy and a girl, who are about four months old.

The police said that on Friday morning, a matrimonial dispute arose between the husband and the wife. Thereafter, the woman called members of her parental family, who reached the house of the deceased soon after. Reportedly, the victim’s wife stepped out of the house for a while after the fight with her husband.

After the Jindal family arrived at the victim’s house in Laxmi Park, they allegedly assaulted the victim severely. The victim succumbed to the injuries later, the police said.

Police say they have registered a case under Section 103(1) and Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the accused. They added that they are checking the CCTV footage of the area in order to ascertain the sequence of events, which led to the alleged murder.
