Former union minister Sharad Pawar-led NCP(SP), which was inclined towards the BJP, had almost decided to extend its help to the party to pass the delimitation bill. However, the protest of Gen Z and viral videos of Gen Alpha have reportedly forced the party to reverse its stand and strategy. In a recent meeting, Sharad Pawar cleared the air, saying that they are in opposition and have to be active to play the role of a strong opposition. The MPs who were earlier in favour of joining the BJP are also confused and have decided to take their time until the dust settles.

Nashik joins Mumbai with potholed roads

Mumbai has long been infamous for its pothole-plagued roads during the monsoon season, but Nashik is also under the spotlight. More than ten people have lost their lives due to potholes and bad roads in Nasik city. Commuters face a harrowing time, spending up to 30 minutes for covering a one-kilometre distance. Recently, a gravel-laden truck sent to fill the potholes sank into a major road cave-in. Despite an investment of more than Rs 10,000 crore on infrastructure ahead of the Kumbh Mela, these funds do not seem to have improved the roads. The next Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar begins on October 31 and runs through July 24, 2028.

MLAs, MPs set to engage closely with leadership

Complaints of MLAs and MLCs that meeting Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Dy CM Sunetra Pawar are a big challenge will soon be redressed. According to sources, only those close to top leaders are getting time and appointments with the top brass, while the rest are made to wait endlessly. To bridge this widening communication gap, the CM and Dy CMs have decided to arrange regular dinner parties to interact closely with the MLAs and MLCs to hear the grievances of the people and address them. Earlier, CM Devendra Fadnavis started the Dabba party meeting after the cabinet, where ministers were asked to bring their own tiffiin.
