Government failed to check oxygen, remdesivir black-marketing; gave wrong Covid death figures: Opposition
Congress member Ranjeet Ranjan said several people succumbed to the Black Fungus infection caused due to the use of water in oxygen cylinders which was not fit for humans.
The committee said it was informed that at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in February 2020, India was dependent on high-end imported ventilators and to meet the needs.
It also warned against use of the drug in patients who are not on oxygen support or in home settings.
The chemicals and fertilizers minister also said that medical oxygen allotment for Karnataka has also been increased.
On Saturday, a large quantity of Remdesivir injections was reported stolen from the stock of the state-run Hamidia Hospital in Bhopal.
Last week, the government had put ban on export of Remdesivir for the time being to meet domestic needs.
