Former Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has been arrested in connection with an alleged ₹100-crore private schools clearance scam. The arrest follows the Madras High Court’s dismissal of his anticipatory bail plea. Police allege that money was collected from around 177 private schools in exchange for government recognition and statutory approvals. The investigation is ongoing.
