Vande Mataram stamp, coin mark 150 years of national song, PM Modi declares nationwide commemoration

PM Modi launched a nationwide year-long commemoration to mark the 150th anniversary of 'Vande Mataram', Bankim Chandra Chatterjee's poem, which was published on November 7, 1875. Rabindranath Tagore first sang the Bengali anthem that inspired countless freedom fighters and nation builders at the 1896 Congress Session in Kolkata.
