Jet fuel prices in India have surged to a record high, crossing Rs 2 lakh per kilolitre for the first time. The spike is driven by rising global crude oil prices amid escalating tensions in West Asia. In Delhi, aviation turbine fuel prices jumped sharply by over 114%, pushing rates to their highest level ever recorded. While international airlines will pay the revised rates, domestic carriers are likely to be shielded. However, the hike is expected to increase pressure on airlines already dealing with longer routes and high operating costs, with fuel accounting for nearly 40% of expenses.
