Angry voters hold 7 Judicial officers hostage in Bengal over SIR deletions

Seven judicial officers were held hostage for over nine hours in West Bengal's Malda district by voters on April 1st. The voters were agitated as their names were deleted from the voter list during the Special Intensive Revision. The officers, including three women, were gheraoed at Kaliachak in Malda yesterday afternoon. In the early hours of April 2, police and paramilitary forces removed the protesters. They rescued the judicial officers and moved them to a safe location
