First time in 92 yrs, 3 Asian teams enter FIFA World Cup round of 16

In a competition usually dominated by South American and European teams, it is Asia that has turned up the heat in Qatar. Asian teams made history at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. For the first time in the 92-year history of the World Cup, three Asian teams have qualified for the round of 16. South Korea, Japan and Australia have made it through to the second round of the FIFA World Cup.
