During the opening of the legislative session in Caracas, the son of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro broke down while addressing the National Assembly on Monday.
In an emotional speech, he described the capture of his parents as a “kidnapping” and warned of its wider implications. “If we normalise the kidnapping of a head of state, no country is safe.
Today it is Venezuela, tomorrow it could be any country that does not yield,” he said, calling for global attention to the issue.
