Tollywood to organise anti-drug campaigns in Andhra Pradesh

Producer Dil Raju says audience should take positive aspects, not get addicted to bad habits shown in films. 

VIJAYAWADA: With drugs scandal surrounding the film industry with officials of Special Investigation Team (SIT) Telangana issuing notices to some in the film fraternity and also grilling them, noted film producer Dil Raju said that Telugu film industry will organise anti-drug campaigns shortly to create awareness among artists about the ill effects of drugs.

Raju was in the city on Thursday to promote his upcoming film ‘Fida’ , along with film director Sekhar Kammula and actor Varun Tej. Addressing a press conference, Dil Raju said “I came to know about the issue only after some sections of media reported the matter. Social media is more powerful these days than mainstream media. Audience should only take the positive aspects from films and not get addicted to bad habits as shown in the films. As of now, films produced under my banner have a message and are family entertainers.”

Speaking about the movie “Fida”, Raju said that soon after listening to the script from director Sekhar Kammula, he suggested Varun Tej for the project. “The film portrays the journey of a relationship between a father and daughter and includes a love story. The female character played by Premam fame Sai Pallavi will be a memorable one like the character of Hasini in Bommarillu.” 

Film director Sekhar Kammula said that the film would entertain both  family and youth like his earlier films Anand, Godavari and Happy Days. He ascertained that the film, would definitely earn Varun tej the image of a  lover boy. When asked about his upcoming projects, Sekhar Kammula said, “As of now,  I am completely focussed on this movie and it may take a few more months to script my next film.”

“I am very confident about the film as the script itself reflects the emotions and values. In the beginning, I found it hard in portraying the emotions narrated by the director. I hope the film will be turning point in my career,” said actor Varun Tej.Varun Tej along with producer Dil Raju and film director Sekhar Kammula also offered special prayers to Goddess Kanaka Durga at Indrakeeladri.
