VIJAYAWADA: The TDP is planning to add some glamour to the party. Actress Vani Viswanath was already invited in join the party and plans are being made to bring her into active politics so as to make her a better opponent to firebrand YSRC leader R K Roja. TDP senior leaders opine that it excites everyone when some film actors get into the party. Starting from TDP founder the late NTR, the TDP has had many silver screen stars like Jayaprada, Balakrishna, Kavitha and sitting Rajahamandry MP M Murali Mohan.
The TDP wants Vani Viswanath to participate actively in the State politics, especially in Chandragiri or Nagari constituency of Chittoor district where Tamilians are high in number.
“Vani Viswanath is impressed by the welfare activities being done by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and shows her interest in joining the TDP. She will be a great asset to the party,” TDP leader and District minister N Amarnath Reddy said. “It will bring some positive vibes when someone who have trust in party and government policies joins hands with us.
She is expected to join the TDP soon in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu,” the minister said. According to some senior leaders of the party, which is on a success track with victories in Kakinada civic polls and Nandyal Assembly by-election, will climb new heights in the 2019 elections if it adds some cine glamour to it.
