RABAT: A Turkish Airlines jet carrying 264 passengers made an emergency landing in Morocco's Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport on Monday after a note with a bomb threat was found inside the plane's toilet.

The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, en route from Istanbul in Turkey to Sao Paulo in Brazil, made the emergency landing at 12.30 GMT and the passengers were evacuated, according to a Xinhua report.

So far, there has been no confirmation whether the bomb warning was false, but Turkish Airlines said that follow-up procedures would continue, to ensure passengers' security.
