Cox and Kings-owned Meininger to open 162-room hotel in France's Bordeaux

Tours and travel firm Cox & Kings today said its group company Meininger Hotels has inked a pact to open a new 162-room hotel in Bordeaux in France.

NEW DELHI: Tours and travel firm Cox & Kings today said its group company Meininger Hotels has inked a pact to open a new 162-room hotel in Bordeaux in France.

The company, however, did not divulge the details of the agreement.

The hotel will offer 162 rooms and 493 beds and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2020, Cox & Kings said in a filing to the BSE.

Commenting on the development, Meininger Hotels CEO Hannes Spanring said: "We are on track with our expansion strategy with the signing of this new deal in Bordeaux." Cox & Kings owns Meininger Hotels through its subsidiary Prometheon Holdings (UK) Ltd.

Meininger Hotels currently operates 17 hotels in Europe with a total of 8,409 beds in 11 cities including Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, London and Vienna among others.

Shares of Cox & Kings ended at Rs 269.60 per scrip, down 0.13 per cent on BSE today.
