CHENNAI: IT major Wipro, India’s third largest software firm, has reported 6 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 2,190 crore for the July-September 2017 quarter. The firm’s profit increased 5.5 per cent on a quarterly basis.

The company, which announced its financial results for the quarter-ended September here on Tuesday, attributed this to the robust performance of its IT services segment. “We surpassed the milestone of $2 billion in quarterly revenues for IT services on the back of rigorous execution of our strategy,” said Abidali Z Neemuchwala, CEO.IT services revenue posted 2.1 per cent growth on a quarter-on-quarter basis at $2.01 billion.
