KOLKATA: Chinese electronics goods manufacturer Lenovo is aiming at a 22 per cent market share in PC sales in the current financial year, an official of the company said.

"Our present market share as per GfK data is 20 per cent. We want to take it to 22 per cent in the current fiscal taking it to the number three spot", Rajesh Thadani, head and ED of consumer and e-commerce said.

The PC segment comprises all-in-ones, desktops, and laptops.

He said that the GfK data reflects actual sales in the market while IDC numbers indicate the volume of shipments taking place.

According to IDC data, Lenovo's market share is 17.5 per cent, which is targeted to grow to 20 per cent, he said.

To increase market share, the company is expanding the retail network by opening 100 more exclusive stores this fiscal, in addition to the existing 600 across the country.

In addition to this, presence in the number of retail shops and multi-brand outlets would also be increased, Thadani said.
